      DANAË — The Shower of Gold

      I want to be found.

      An oracle told King Acrisius that his daughter's son would kill him, so he sealed Danaë in a bronze chamber underground, without a door — a solution that was really just a delay. Zeus reached her anyway, not as a bull or a swan but as a shower of gold falling through the roof.

      The story is usually told as seduction. It reads better as this: no room is sealed well enough to keep the light out. Danaë opens like that roof — bright, citrus, unhurried — and settles into the part people actually buy it for.

      The Accord

      Brighter than this house's reputation suggests. Sicilian lemon and bergamot open it, pink pepper lifts it, and then it settles into creamy Mysore sandalwood and cashmere wood. The gold, not the bronze.
