But here is the thing, perfume-lovers, there is no such expiration date on perfume bottles because, in a sense, perfumes do not really expire. However, there is more to this than meets the eye. Exposure to light, heat, and fluctuating temperatures can expedite the decline, affecting the perfume’s notes and overall character. Storing perfumes in a bathroom, often thought convenient, is inadvisable due to the high humidity and temperature variations typical of such spaces.

A cool, dark place, such as a drawer or cabinet, shields the scent from the adverse effects of light and temperature changes. Additionally, keeping the bottle in its original box can offer an extra layer of protection.
