Top 10 Baccarat Rouge 540 Dupes and Alternatives
In a world where viral dance trends and 90s fashion revivals are common, creating a timeless perfume sensation is a unique achievement. Baccarat Rouge 540, launched in 2014, is an exemplary success in the fragrance industry, combining a winning collaborative concept, exquisite note blend, and expert craftsmanship.
The perfume’s journey began in 2014 when Baccarat, the esteemed crystal manufacturer, celebrated its 250th anniversary by collaborating with Francis Kurkdjian. Kurkdjian, with a forward-looking vision, crafted a fragrance that symbolised Baccarat’s luxury legacy without being anchored in the past.
The name ‘Baccarat Rouge 540’ itself reflects careful thought and homage to Baccarat’s heritage and the art of alchemy. It signifies the transformation of crystal at 540°C with the addition of 24-carat gold powder, resulting in Baccarat’s iconic rouge colour.
Kurkdjian’s approach was marked by simplicity and sophistication. Inspired by the Golden Ratio, he created a fragrance that embodies both opulence and airiness, challenging conventional gender norms and French perfume traditions. The perfume’s composition, featuring notes like hedione, Ambroxan, cedar, and saffron, offers a complex yet balanced aroma. It’s a floral-woody fragrance with a seductive, sophisticated character, enjoying widespread popularity and remaining a top wishlist item for many.
With Baccarat Rouge 540 still being so popular and beloved for 8 years in a row, it is no wonder that almost everyone wants a bottle or, at the very least, to smell like it by any means possible. However, if you are a budget-conscious person, buying a perfume for €300 (100ml) might not be an option.
There are perfume-lovers out there, as well, who do not necessarily mind the high price point but would prefer a slightly different-smelling fragrance that has some Baccarat Rouge DNA in it.
For both groups, we have a wonderful list below that might just help you on your next shopping trip to the perfume store.
1. Crystal Saffron by Matière Premiere
Crystal Saffron, a modern and captivating unisex perfume, opens with a lavish helping of saffron that sets the tone for this spicy yet musky creation by Matière Premiere. At first, its Crystal Saffron seems distinct from Baccarat Rouge, especially considering the clean and crisp musk top note.
Yet, as it settles down, the resemblance to Baccarat Rogue becomes strikingly apparent, owing to the rich ambroxan note at Crystal Saffron’s base. What sets Crystal Saffron apart is a subtle whisper of incense, ensuring it steers clear of the sweeter, floral trails of Baccarat, while still sharing its unmistakable DNA
Priced at €146,25 in our Beautinow shop, this intriguing alternative offers more than just a scent; it’s an experience worth exploring, especially for its value.

2. Cloud by Ariana Grande

Leave it to a celebrity perfume to create the biggest buzz in the dupe-seeking community! While the presentation of Cloud, with its distinctive bottle, and its classification as a gourmand fragrance—unlike Baccarat Rouge—might initially raise eyebrows, there’s a consensus in the fragrance community about its remarkable similarity to the iconic scent. This €45 creation by the multi-talented Ariana Grande astonishingly mirrors the essence of Baccarat Rouge, despite sharing no common notes.
Wearing Cloud is akin to capturing the essence of Baccarat Rouge, an impressive feat for those mindful of their budget. Naturally, at this price point, some concessions are made in terms of projection, sillage, and longevity. Yet, for those who prioritise the scent experience over these factors, Cloud emerges as not just a commendable alternative, but arguably the best in its price range.
3. Kalan by Parfums de Marly

If Baccarat Rouge captivates you but you find it overly sweet or leaning too feminine, Kalan by Parfums de Marly presents a compelling option. This exquisite fragrance, with a more masculine tilt, is not only easy to wear but also possesses an ambery sweetness reminiscent of the amber note in Baccarat Rouge.
Kalan stands out as a fragrance worth exploring, whether or not you’re seeking a Baccarat Rouge substitute. Its composition, blending blood orange with a vibrant mix of spices, white florals, and a touch of creamy sandalwood, establishes it as a magnificent scent in its own right. Its uniqueness and sophistication are matched by a broad appeal that many find surprising. Priced at €210, Kalan transcends the ‘dupe’ category in terms of cost. It’s an excellent Baccarat alternative for both men and women who prefer their fragrance with a spicier, drier edge.
4. Nocturna by Royal Crown

Nocturna, while an excellent Baccarat Rouge alternative, transcends the notion of a budget-friendly dupe. This exquisite fragrance hails from the Italian perfume house, Royal Crown, celebrated for its handcrafted bottles and selection of the finest raw materials. At approximately €590 per bottle, Nocturna is unmistakably in the luxury segment.
Nocturna undoubtedly captivates Baccarat Rouge fans because of its ambery charm. Although it opens with some captivating fruity notes, as it dries down it unfurls a deep, classic ambergris accord, resonating with Baccarat Rouge’s beloved ambroxan yet distinct in its depth and complexity. True to its name, Nocturna presents a darker, more enigmatic blend compared to Baccarat Rouge, making it a rather attractive choice for those seeking a scent with mystery and sophistication.
5. Amber Rouge by Orientica

Amber Rouge, a gem from the Emirates-based perfume house Orientica, stands as an opulent and budget-conscious alternative to Baccarat Rouge, while also posing a formidable challenge to Ariana’s Cloud in the coveted Best Baccarat Dupe category.
This fragrance, with its sweeter notes, has garnered a significant female following, outshining both Baccarat and Cloud for many. Amber Rouge, with its distinctly feminine allure, is perfect for those yearning for a version of Baccarat that radiates more warmth and sensuality. If this resonates with your tastes, a modest investment of around €60 beckons. This sum not only unlocks one of the finest Baccarat substitutes but also ensures exceptional value. Amber Rouge’s enduring scent and remarkable projection are hallmarks of Arab perfumery, guaranteeing a memorable and lasting impression.
6. Amber Oud Rouge by Al Haramain

Among the select, exquisitely crafted Arab-made Baccarat dupes gracing the market, Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Rouge emerges as a formidable contender to Amber Rouge by Orientica. This sweet gourmand fragrance is distinguished by its warm, divine essence, woven with the rich tapestry of resinous oud, celebrated for its long-lasting character. Amber Oud Rouge mirrors the notes of Baccarat, with a delightful twist: a subtle yet pleasant musk note sets it apart.
Embracing a unisex appeal, much like Baccarat, Amber Oud Rouge is adored by its fans. However, it carves its own niche with a slightly earthier undertone, enriching the fragrance journey with added depth and complexity. At €70 for a 120 ml bottle, Amber Oud Rouge is not just an affordable alternative; it’s a testament to luxury and quality accessible to all.
7. Oud for Greatness by Initio Parfums Privés
Initio’s ‘Oud for Greatness’ stands as a powerhouse in the world of perfumery, earning its adoration for its distinct character. This fragrance is a harmonious blend of spicy, musky, and woody notes, renowned for its impressive projection and endurance of 8-9 hours. For those in pursuit of a Baccarat Rouge 540 variant with a whisper of sweet oud, yet desiring a more pronounced spiciness and a robustly masculine edge, ‘Oud for Greatness’ emerges as an excellent choice.
Echoing a familiar theme in this list, the Baccarat Rouge DNA is unmistakably present in ‘Oud for Greatness’, especially noted in its luxurious saffron opening. However, it’s important to note that ‘Oud for Greatness’ doesn’t fit the mould of a budget-friendly dupe. Priced at €265, it stands as a distinguished alternative and a worthwhile investment in its own right. Explore this exquisite fragrance in our online shop now.
8. Casino Royale by The Dua Brand

The Dua Brand from Los Angeles has truly established itself as a standout in the world of perfume dupes. Their collection is quite impressive, offering a variety of scents inspired by top perfume brands. Among their hits is Casino Royale, a fan-favourite dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540.
Casino Royale closely matches the notes of Baccarat Rouge, but it’s not just a mere copy. The Dua Brand adds their own twist with a zesty orange di capri note and a hint of marigold, giving it its own character.
Priced at €50 per bottle, Casino Royale sits at the higher end of the dupe market, and it’s easy to see why. It’s got a lasting scent and strong projection that fans appreciate. If you’re budget-conscious but still want a touch of luxury similar to Baccarat Rouge, Casino Royale could be your perfect pick.
9. Dream Moon by Pacifica Beauty

If you haven’t been swept up by Ariana Grande’s Cloud, you might find yourself in the camp of Pacifica’s Dream Moon. This US brand really made waves in 2020 with the launch of Dream Moon, quickly earning a reputation as a fantastic, wallet-friendly alternative to Baccarat Rouge 540.
At first glance, Dream Moon’s blend of rose, sandalwood, and patchouli might not scream ‘Baccarat Rouge dupe.’ But that’s the surprise – its drydown has an uncanny resemblance to the iconic Baccarat Rouge.
And the best part? Dream Moon is priced around €20 per bottle, making it an exceptional deal for anyone wanting to indulge in the essence of a luxe niche perfume without breaking the bank.
10. Liwa by Widian

WIDIAN Liwa Extrait de Parfum
If you’re on the hunt for an oud-infused alternative to Baccarat Rouge that won’t empty your wallet the way Baccarat Rouge will certainly do, Liwa should be on your radar. This fragrance isn’t just another scent; it’s a real showstopper. With its floral, citrusy, and spicy notes, Liwa shares many similarities with Baccarat Rouge. Its standout notes include saffron, jasmine, amber, and cedar, all echoing the qualities that have made Baccarat a legendary perfume.
Liwa starts off with a zesty burst of bergamot, which gracefully transitions into a subtle rose heart. As the fragrance settles, the amber note emerges, reminiscent of the warm, inviting amber in Baccarat Rouge, making it impossible not to fall in love with. Priced at €199 a bottle in our online shop, Liwa is more than just a fragrance; it’s a finely crafted Arab perfume that could easily pass as a smoother, cooler cousin of Baccarat Rouge.

Severus Snape by Carina Dolci is exactly Baccarat Rouge and it’s $8-$16 and cons in so many products! Thought I’d share!
Thanks for sharing! That’s really affordable, how is the longevity and sillage?
I have just acquired a bottle of the Baccarat perfume, which I would describe as over-rated and commonplace: there are hundreds of other fragrances that smell like this one, and that’s why it’s commonplace!
It lasts a mean hour or so, and I just don’t like it, preferring something with a lot more originality and personality. I shall sell this on, or give it to a charity shop.
Well any perfume that gets this popular, will eventually be copied by a lot, and over time many fragrances will appear with a similar profile. At the time this perfume was launched, it was rather unique though. It was like a ‘CK One’ moment, so we do think it still deserves the credit for it. Of course, most people will either hate it or love it, but that’s what’s nice about niche perfume.
