Perfumes M. Micallef FAQ
Parfums M.Micallef came into existence in 1996 in Grasse (the world capital of perfumes ) as a collaboration between husband-wife duo Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman. Boasting unparalleled creativity in the world of perfumery, the brand thrives on the passion of its artistic director Martine Micallef. Drawing inspiration from her trips around the world, she aims to create unique perfumes for her customers. Self-taught nose Geoffrey Nejman breathes life into her ideas and sets rigorous standards of excellence. Micallef and Nejman developed the "Art and Perfume" concept to elevate their creations. Today, M. Micallef is available in 75 countries through 900 luxury stores. Promoting boundless creativity and wild imagination in perfumery, the brand has thousands of loyal clients who swear by their fragrances.
Artistic director and eponymous co-founder Martine Micallef has successfully infused her niche perfumes with a unique spirit. Always in search of authenticity, Martine Micallef has sharpened her creative audacity over the years through numerous adventures. The Micallef collections are masterful in every way - from intoxicating blends to gorgeous presentations. Geoffrey Nejman diverged from his career in international finance to establish M. Micallef with his spouse. Self-taught Nejman had an inherent talent for perfumery. Grasse-based perfumer Jean-Claude Astier assisted the duo.
M.Micallef uses the best raw materials available in Grasse to create masterful perfumes. It has served as a pioneer of modern-day orientals but is also known for embracing experimentation with open arms. M. Micallef fragrances utilize the most precious raw materials, including beautiful flowers from the Pays de Grasse. After pioneering orientals in the modern perfume industry, the brand decided to embrace an avant-garde approach and broaden its palette of ingredients to come up with more exciting concoctions.
On the topic of Grasse and its floral extravaganza being inspirational, Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman state on their website:
"Each day Grasse awakens our senses by the splendour of its terroir. In this paradise illuminated by a languid sunshine, through its fields and alleyways, the air is filled with the penetrating notes released by an army of jasmine, roses, iris, tuberose, violets, orange blossoms, citrus fruits, aromatic plants... Such is the palette reflected by our creations, the mirror of a luminosity, a majestic nature, a history as well as the embodiment of our lifestyle on the Riviera. This is where we live, where we create."
Martine Micallef designs stunning jewelry bottles to encase the fragrances. Constructed with openwork metal, they are decorated by hand with crystals and lustrous paint.
