About Meo Fusciuni
An Italian perfume house developed by a Sicilian herbalist named Giuseppe Imprezzabile, Meo Fusciuni entered the market in 2010 and won the hearts of fragrance enthusiasts with its compelling brand image. The nomenclature stems from the founder’s native Sicilian dialect. He was nicknamed Meo by his father when he was still a child, and Fusciuni refers to a “flowing stream” of a liquid.
Driven by a passion for the sensorial power that resides in fragrances, Giuseppe decided to make this brand an outlet for his immense creativity. Devised with care and handmade with love, Meo Fusciuni fragrances are now in global demand.
On the website of the brand, Giuseppe comments on his process of creating new perfumes:
“It all starts with the smell, listening attentively to the olfactory emotion during the journey into the world, within oneself. This is how my work begins, this is how the creation of a perfume takes shape in my path.”
Giuseppe Imprezzabile chose the path of storytelling through perfumes after much deliberation. For him, the different steps to create a new perfume – finding the perfect ingredients, feeling the emotions that the scent wants to convey, and being immersed in the art – bear resemblance to a self-discovery journey. Sharing his olfactory innovations with the rest of the world is indeed a precious feeling. Giuseppe finds his career as a perfumer to have many nuances, some of which are not even visible to the public eye. He says:
“This is my journey as a perfumer, as a researcher of olfactory memories transformed into perfume.”
Giuseppe finds himself conducting daily research and protecting his olfactory sensitivity to do justice to his role as a nose. He believes that the latter “distinguishes” his creations and is “something material and ethereal at the same time.” He chooses only the best raw materials for his fragrances and ensures that the implementation stays true to his vision. However, he also understands that everyone perceives art differently and forms ethereal and spiritual bonds with their fragrances. Giuseppe celebrates how the material and chemical aspects of perfumery coincide with the creation of individual olfactory memories. He states:
“I’d like to move people with fragrances, tell a story without images or sounds, almost without touching that little perfumed cloud that, close to us, spreads.”
The brand’s initial launch, Trilogy of Journey, drew inspiration from three stunning locations —Istanbul, Morocco, and Sicily. The Meo Fusciuni collection has since expanded to accommodate even more amazing fragrances.
