    Frapin Perfumes FAQ

Frapin happens to be one of the oldest producers of Cognac in France. The Frapin family hails from the town of Segonzac, which is located in the heart of the Grande Champagne region of France. They initially started their business as wine growers before going on to become distillers. For more than 20 generations, the family has held on to their reputation of being one of the highest-rated producers of cognac. Their 750-acre estate, the Château de Fontpinot in Segonzac, boasts 600 acres of Ugni blanc vineyards. Additionally, they have the unique distinction of being categorized as a Château.

When the brand decided to branch out into the world of perfumes and colognes, there was never any doubt that they would settle for nothing but perfection. Frapin fragrances are now highly coveted items because they encapsulate the rich history and legacy of the house while smelling exquisite on their own. Their experience in the wine and cognac industry has given the brand unmatched expertise in creating beautifully rich aromas and evoking memorable sensations. Each luxurious Frapin perfume is formulated to tell a story that will linger in your mind for days to come.

As Frapin tries to capture the quintessential emotion and spirit of the French art of living in their artisanal creations, they focus on combining tradition with innovation. The house has been in the pursuit of perfecting and refining their cognac production methods for decades now, and they bring the same level of meticulous detail to their perfume manufacturing process. Exercising unmatched control over every step of the production, the house aims to establish a beautiful relationship between their impressive endeavors.

How does Frapin create their timeless perfumes?

According to Frapin, their scents are heavily inspired by their cognacs, their history, and the land of their origin. For them, the joy and purpose of designing and creating enchanting perfumes lie in their ability to enhance one's senses and send them hurling into a tornado of emotions. An ode to the "French passion for quality, art de vivre and tradition," their take on perfumery has the power to render one speechless.

Made with the best, high-quality raw materials, Frapin's timeless creations invoke the inherent satisfaction that lies in an object of beauty. In order to create flawless compositions, Frapin makes sure that their perfumes get enough time to truly embrace the essence of the ingredients. They value what a little bit more time and patience can bring to their elegant creations.

As per Frapin's official website, their perfumes are manufactured on a small scale so they can maintain exceptionally high standards of production. The official perfumers of the house are allowed to express their creativity freely so they can uphold the 'prestige and originality of French fragrance.'

The perfumes are locked inside bottles with beech wood caps so you can experience the sheer exultation of setting the aroma free. One unique thing to note is that Frapin employs a master craftsman to sculpt the beech wood caps in an effort to stay true to their roots. Just like the flavor of cognac is determined by both the grape and the wood of casks, the perfumes are also enhanced by the addition of the specially-made caps.

Frapin originally started as a cognac house and is managed throughout 20 generations. Today’s owners are Genevieve Frapin and Max Cointreau. The daughter of the owners Beatrice Cointreau introduced the first Frapin fragrance line in 2002, named ‘1270’, referring to the year the cognac house was founded.

Frapin collaborates with well known perfumers such as Sidonie Lancesseur (1270 Frapin), Jérôme Epinette (1270 Extrême Frapin) and Bertrand Duchaufour (1697 Frapin).
